When I first launched my business in 2013, I didn’t know what I didn’t know. Within the first calendar year, that business hit six figures in revenue. I needed to quickly figure out how to harness that momentum and grow my business in a way that would work for me.
There were countless mistakes made, money wasted, and precious time spent as I went through the process on my own.
I launched Bird Williams to be the resource I wish I had during the fundamental growth stages of my business, and life. I’ve owned multiple businesses, both brick and mortar and online, and my career on Wall Street only enhanced my ability to deconstruct complex pain points, stay focused on crucial details, and ultimately figure things out. I’m here to help at every stage, bump, and corner of your brand, in a way that works for you.

So, what’s with the name Bird?
My dad called my mom “Bird” when they were dating because she ate like a bird. When my husband Terry caught on, he started calling me Bird too. So we let that name take flight.
My real name is Ashley, you can call me either, and I help build better brands.
After graduating with just 18 people in my Texas City High school, and climbing my way to success at The University of Texas Austin (Hook ‘Em!), my move to New York City was a powerful next step. I was ready to change the world (despite being terrified, ill-prepared, and young).
Although my job as an Investment Banking Analyst on Wall Street was thrilling, and New York City was full of energy, the fulfillment just wasn’t there.
But, I also didn’t know what was next. So I wrote a list of tasks I would enjoy doing if no one paid me. It became clear: I wanted to run my own business.
In 2013, Terry and I launched The League, a circuit training gym in Houston, TX. I remember the joy of the launch party, and my disappointment in the numbers… there was only one person in our first class.
This was just the beginning of lessons learned and mistakes made — more than I have space here to list. That learning, growing, and building, translated into my own venture of helping other entrepreneurs do the same.
I started Bird Williams because along my journey, I’ve encountered potential or struggling entrepreneurs who reminded me of myself,
who just need a bit of guidance and support.
Many have come to me for help with their businesses — how to create a business plan, devise a marketing strategy, raise capital, understand the basic first steps, and so on. I’ve been through this process again and again... and I’m happy to say I’ve truly found my passion — one that fulfills both me and those I get to work with.
